PPP Will Oppose The Bill To Make Marriage Mandatory For 18-Year-Old, Says Bakhtawar

Recently, a member of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) in the Sindh Assembly came up with a bill to make marriage compulsory for 18-year-olds.

It has also been suggested that parents who delay the marriage of their children should pay a fine of 500 pkr. The bill has been facing criticism from various quarters since its inception, while mixed reactions have also been seen from social media users.

Opposing the bill, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, leader of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Sindh government, said in a tweet that the proposed bill had nothing to do with the PPP and she made an announcement that PPP would oppose the bill.
