After New Zealand Pull Out, England Also Cancels Pakistan Tour

0

Just a few days after the cancellation of the New Zealand cricket tour of Pakistan over a security threat, England also cancels the Pakistan tour. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) expressed their regret over the tour cancellation.

The ECB Said, we realize this news will be a great shock for PCB and Pakistani cricket fans, but the mental and physical condition of our athletes and support staff remains our main interest. We did efforts tirelessly to keep up with the tour, but the last solution only seems to be a cancellation.

The One Day International (ODI) between the cricket team of England and Pakistan was scheduled on October 13 and 14 in Rawalpindi cricket stadium. England’s women cricket team was due to play 3 ODI in Pakistan on 17, 19, and 21 October.

The Security New Zealand Team Got In Pakistan Was More Than Entire Army Of New Zealand, Says Sheikh Rasheed

0

Hot flames surrounding the air after the New Zealand cricket team postponed the One-Day International (ODI) cricket matches over security concerns in Pakistan. However, the New Zealand government hasn’t shared the security threat with Pakistan, thus cricket fans found it unreasonable to cancel the series over a non-credible threat.

The interior minister of Pakistan, Sheikh Rasheed, in today’s press conference stated that the troop of the Pakistan Army that was allocated for the security purpose of the New Zealand cricket team is far bigger in size than the whole of the New Zealand army. There is no security threat in the country, he added.

Moreover, Sheikh Rasheed elaborated that this is the first time up till now that Pakistan’s cabinet has designated any team for New Zealand’s security. This is not only a preference to Pakistan, but Pakistan considers it a supreme duty and will accomplish it at any cost.

Mentioning deliberately, he added that Pakistan is very hopeful to see all teams uniting here and carrying the great event of ODI cricket matches soon in the future. Peaceful relations and the region are Islamabad’s priority, and Pakistan stands with the world to maintain peace and security by all means.

China All Set To Invest $15 Billion In Pakistan’s Petrochemical Sector, A Message To Global Investors That Pakistan Is Safe For Investment

0

As China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is moving ahead in the line of progress, China is ready to spend more billion-dollar investment in Pakistan. This time China comes up with an investment of $15 billion in Pakistan’s petrochemical sector.

The project will involve energy pipeline from Pakistan’s city Gwadar to China. However, the $15 billion investment is more than a business deal for Pakistan. In the wake of the New Zealand cricket team pulling out of Pakistan, China is investing more billion dollars that proves Pakistan is safe for investors.

Pakistan’s Board of Investment Secretary Fareeha Mazhar while talking to the Associated Press of Pakistan confirmed that China is all set to invest $15 billion in Pakistan’s petrochemical sector. Mazhar also indicated that China would invest in Pakistan’s agriculture, energy and tourism sectors as well.

As per some unconfirmed sources, China has plans to invest in Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector. However, the announcement of Chinese investment in Pakistan is a loud and clear message to global investors who were curious if their investment in Pakistan remains safe or not after the security threat to the New Zealand cricket team.

How Can Pakistan Support Someone In Afghanistan When We Can’t Even Meet Our Own Expenses While US Was Spending $300 Million Each Day Says Imran Khan

0

When the Prime Minister was interviewed by RT, a Russian news channel, Prime Minister clamoured for the emergence of an all-inclusive government in Afghanistan to strengthen national unity and fabricate long drawn out stability in the war-ravaged country. He said that Pakistan is working with the bordering countries of Afghanistan to decide what efforts can be made so that the international community recognises the Afghan government.

The foremost step would be the formation of an all-inclusive government in Afghanistan, he emphasized. “ No doubt, Afghanistan is a diverse country, but the Taliban are a Pashtun movement and Pashtuns account for half of the population”. “Though, Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazara are the ones with a large number”. He highlighted that nearly all the bordering countries of Afghanistan attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. At the moment Afghan issue needs to be immediately dealt with and is the main issue for the whole region.

Carrying on, he said, Afghanistan is standing at a significant junction and either stability would be its fate after wars of four decades, or either it will go in the wrong direction and
mayhem and enormous humane and refugee catastrophe will be generated and ultimately it will affect all bordering countries of Afghanistan. Moreover, he said that being part of the international community, Pakistan’s recognition of the Taliban government would be a noteworthy step.

THREAT OF TERRORISM FROM AFGHAN SOIL:

Representing Pakistan’s point of view, he said that threats of terrorism were an alarm from Afghanistan, where three terrorist groups were facilitated from Afghan soil to carry their terrorist activities in Pakistan.

Answering a question, he said that as if it was supposed Pakistan assisted the Afghan Taliban in opposition to the United States, then it would mean that Pakistan is more powerful than the US and all European countries combined, and Pakistan together with 60,000 to 70,000 soldiers carrying light weapons held victorious against an army of 300,000 troops.

Sadly, a propaganda movement was started against Pakistan, he argued “Propaganda begins to head off attention from the inability, corruption and poor governance by the previous Afghanistan government”.

The PM added that a large number of Afghan people considered the previous government a marionette (puppet) and the previous Afghan government was not respected by Afghan people.

ILLOGICAL PROPAGANDA:

Explaining the second component of propaganda was the Indian immense investment in the Afghan government of Ashraf Ghani.

India started with propaganda, but it was illogical adding that Pakistan constitutes $50 billion of the total budget for its 220 million people. He said how Pakistan assisted anyone in this war of resistance that triumphed upon America. “The US lobed in $2 trillion in this war in 2 decades. So all this is propaganda and illogical”.

He pondered how it ensued that 300,000 brave Afghan armies did not stand and fight and questioned whether Pakistan stopped them from fighting. He said that full-scale analysis should be made to find the reasons why an army of the fearless nation of the world surrendered its weapons without a fight.

Indian News Anchor Arnab Goswami Says He Got An Intelligence Report That ISI Officials Have Occupied 5th Floor Of Serena Hotel Kabul, Which Has Only 2 Floors

1

A person who works as a TV anchor for the Indian Republic Government mouthpiece for the BJP Arnab Goswami, who is known for his agenda-driven talk programs, sensational reporting, and clown reporting, has once again found himself in the spotlight due to the humiliation and embarrassment he experienced during a live televised show.

During his live talk program, he claimed that his ” reliable intelligence sources” informed him of the presence of Pakistan’s top intelligence operatives, the ISI on the 5th floor of the Serena Hotel in Kabul, intervening in Afghanistan politics.

He did not stop there with his nonsense assertions, he also said that he is aware of the super menu that the ISI officials have ordered for tonight. Furthermore, he asserted that no one has the authority to question his intelligence sources.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani guest was present who completely stunned Arnab’s intelligence sources by pointing out that the Kabul Serena Hotel only had two floors, not even the third.

Imran Khan Orders ISI To Prepare An Inside Report On New Zealand Tour Cancellation

1

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the concerned intelligence authorities to publish a white paper on an international level related to the recent security situation raised by New Zealand authorities. PM has told the security agencies to submit their detailed report on it.

Recently, the security officials from New Zealand and England cricket boards visited Pakistan and expressed their utmost satisfaction with security conditions. The officials of Pakistan’s security agency ISI were also accompanying them. They were briefed by the ISI and concerned authorities on the security. New Zealand’s officials were well-satisfied and gave a green signal to their cricket board for the cricket series in Pakistan. But circumstances suddenly changed and New Zeeland surprisingly withdrew the series at the eleventh hour.

The names of Australia and India are appearing on the surface for New Zealand’s withdrawal. If we relate different events that took place recently, keeping in mind the Quad (an alliance of Australia, America, India, and Japan), it is appearing that England will also become a part of it soon. Ramiz Raja, who was recently appointed as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, is endorsing the international players to unveil the peaceful security situations in Pakistan. Prominent international players, including New Zealand’s former cricket captain, are highlighting the secure and sports-friendly environment in Pakistan on social media.

The three above mentioned countries have used the Pakistani cricket players to draw a negative and frivolous image of Pakistan and have used sports for their ulterior motives.

New Zealand took the step on the dictation of America and other regional anti-Pakistan countries; whereas, on the other hand, China was intending to hold cricket matches of other countries with Pakistan, especially in Gwadar.

The withdrawal of the cricket team by New Zealand took place at a crucial time when PM Imran Khan was attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and emphasizing the world to recognize the Afghan Taliban and incentivize them for the reconstruction of the war-torn country.

According to sources, New Zealand has taken the step of abandoning the tour without any authentic information and didn’t share the information about the so-called anonymous security threat with the Pakistani agencies.

Investigation Reveals 6 Intelligence Agencies Including US And Indian Intelligence Provided False Intelligence Report To New Zealand Causing Cancellation Of The New Zealand Tour Of Pakistan

0

On Friday, the New Zealand Cricket team called off the Black Caps’ tour of Pakistan, minutes before the first One Day International (ODI) in Rawalpindi, given the security threats they were receiving from the International Intelligence Alliance and Indian Disinfo Network.

The New Zealand government is also in absolute support of the last-minute decision made by New Zealand Cricket (NZC), despite facing heavy criticism by both the Pakistani social media and the international cricket community.

According to the recent news, the threat report came from the intelligence alliance, Five Eyes, comprised of New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. They stated that the threats were credible, and thus, phone calls were exchanged between New Zealand and Pakistan’s governments to ensure the New Zealand cricket team’s safety first.

However, on 21st August, a piece of disinfo was aired by The Sunday Guardian, an Indian Disinfo media outlet, following the Afghan debacle, stated that the “New Zealand Cricket team may face terror attack in Pakistan.” The credibility of the news was deemed questionable since it was backed by no solid evidence. The last relevant reported news about the unfortunate event stated that the threat alert given to New Zealand was sent by Indian and Australian intelligence and was planned by the US.

Tragedy across Borders: The plight of Hazara community

0

Hammad Waleed

On May 8th, a series of deadly blasts gripped the Dasht e Barchi neighborhood of Kabul. The attack targeted school going girls, most of them belonging from the Hazara community . However this was not the only attack that particularly targeted the Hazaras . As per the 2019 report of office of high commissioner of Human rights in Afghanistan, more than 25 acts of terrorism against the Hazara community have been carried out by militants between 2014 and 2018. The community has suffered the most when soft targets are hit by radical militants which include schools, colleges ,  mosques, community centres and even healthcare facilities. Last year, the very locality where schoolgirls were targeted witnessed a bloody attack on a maternity healthcare facility.

The community activists have not only described their security related woes but difficulties faced by the community in other sectors as well.  They hold the view that government does not look after the interests of the Hazaras. Parts of central Afghanistan, like Bamiyan, the unofficial Hazara capital, are among the country’s poorest, often lacking basic facilities and electricity.

The Hazara community has faced atrocities from state apparatus as well as non state actors particularly due to their ‘ Shia Faith’ which sidelines them from predominantly Sunni majority in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. The history of persecution finds its roots in the 19th century when the Afghanistan’s monarch  Shah Abdur Rehman Khan expelled and persecuted the community. Surviving Hazaras found refuge in the areas of Iran and those of present day Balochistan which eventually became a part of Pakistan later on.

Additionally, the Hazara community has made its mark in political, social as well as military sectors. The famed commander General Musa Khan who led Pakistani forces during the 1965 Indo-Pak war hailed from Hazara community.  Similarly Karim Khalil  the second Vice president of Afghanistan also belonged from this community.

Why target the Hazaras?

In spite of the fact that Hazara community itself has depicted a pluralist and peaceful posture, the radical elements that came to prominence at the culmination of Soviet Afghan War have targeted the community on religious as well as ethnic lines. It is noteworthy that after the Iranian revolution of 1979, Shia groups residing in neighboring states came into the crosshairs of Jihadi outfits. In Pakistan, groups like Sipah Sahaba and Lashkar e Jhangvi flared up the sectarian crisis by targeting Hazaras.

On September 20, 2011, near the town of Mastung in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, gunmen stopped a bus carrying about 40 Shia Hazaras Muslims traveling to Iran to visit Shia holy sites, and killed the members from community only. In 2013, a series of bombings claimed by Lashkar e Jhangvi  killed more than 180 Hazaras in Quetta, derailing the peace in the city.

Steps taken by Pakistan to protect Hazaras:

When it comes to Pakistan, the state has taken solid measures to quell targeted militancy which persecutes Hazara community. As Quetta borders with Afghanistan and provided the rough terrain border with Afghanistan, the influx of terrorists from conflict zone in Afghanistan to Pakistan has been among the paramount cause of attacks against Hazaras. The 1200 Kilometer long border with Afghanistan provides ample locations for terrorist intrusions into Pakistan. The rugged and unpopulated frontier areas had little border policing due to which perpetrators of Hazara attacks could get in and return to their safe haven in war zones of Afghan territory.

When it comes to solid steps taken to protect the community in their neighborhoods, FC personnel were deployed specifically to protect the designated Hazara neighborhoods. According to Balochistan Home ministry, 410 FC personnel, 310 Police personnel, 393 Levies personnel, 126 Vehicles, 16 Jamming vehicles, and 7 Levies APCs, provided on permanent basis to protect the Shia Hazara pilgrims that travel from Balochistan to Taftan in Iran.

However, despite such measures, there have been targeted attacks on the Hazara community due to which many prefer to leave the Quetta localities to other Urban centers in the country where security situation is stable.

The Quagmire of Afghan Hazaras:

The list of terrorist attacks on the Hazara community in Afghanistan remained high. The community has been targeted by both the Taliban and the ISKP. This persecution has resulted in thousands of Hazaras fleeing their native lands in search of safety.

The fragility of security situation in Afghanistan and Kabul government’s restrains in controlling areas under its territory are a major source of violence against Hazaras, going unchecked. However the political blame game that has followed once lethal attacks on Hazara community in government controlled areas , occurred has a more detrimental effect on any follow up security measure.  Last year when a health care facility was targeted by terrorists, the Kabul government immediately blamed the Taliban. US special representative Zalmay Khalilzad categorically blamed ISIS for the attack, absolving the Taliban. However, even his remarks were challenged by Afghan government. Similarly , during the attack on schoolgirls at Dasht e Barchi and attack on miners belonging from HALO Trust,  Kabul government blamed the Taliban. On the contrary the Taliban denied any role in these attacks.

It surely is a moment of rejoinder that members of Hazara community are not safe in Afghanistan’s capital where Kabul government enjoys authority . This also raises a question on the safety measures put in place.

However, the frail security situation of Hazaras in Afghanistan does not vindicate Pakistan form its commitments to securing the ‘religiously and ethnically targeted community’. After all Pakistan is better poised to provide security and conduct operations against terror outfits perpetuating targeted attacks against the community.

Conclusion:

When it comes to Hazaras, it must always be their opinion that must hold primacy for matters pertaining their security. Bureaucratic jargons that state governments give regarding measures taken are downplayed when a targeted attack takes place , not once but repeatedly. The community residing on both sides of the border has voiced their feeling of insecurity on many occasions. The response from democratic executives should be empathic to the community. Failure to do so would further alienate the Hazaras. This was also the case when Hazara community residing in Australia demonstrated against President Ghani during his visit to the country.

Similarly the response by Pakistani Premier Imran khan during the Hazara protest over killing of miners in January also became a matter of debate.  Where he equated the protestors refusal of burying their dead as a means of blackmail. However, Khan rushed to meet the families of the slain Hazara miners as a request from the community where he stated that a whole programme was prepared  and a security forces cell is being made which will look at providing the Hazaras with protection and pursuing those responsible for attacks.

With the emergence of ISKP , resurging TTP, Afghan Taliban making gains and no material protection measures in place, the risks facing the Hazara community are intensifying. The onus lies on the states that have granted constitutional rights to Hazaras, to ensure their security and contain all such outfits that victimize Hazaras: only  due to ethnic and sectarians prejudices.

New Zealand Tour Cancellation Is A Part Of Conspiracy Against Pakistan In The Wake Of Afghan Debacle, Says Sheikh Rasheed

0

Earlier today, the New Zealand cricket team abruptly ended its official cricket tour of Pakistan citing security reasons. New Zealand has refused to share the details of the alleged security threat they received.

On Friday a cricket match was scheduled between Pakistan and New Zealand cricket teams in Rawalpindi. However, the cricket commission of New Zealand suddenly backed out from playing further matches including today’s match due to security concerns raised by NZC and the New Zealand government.

On the other hand, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid in a press conference claimed that the cancellation of New Zealand cricket team’s tour is part of a conspiracy against Pakistan. As per credible sources, the New Zealand government was under pressure to cancel this tour following the Afghan debacle. The scheduled series included three ODIs that were to be played in Rawalpindi and five T20s Which were scheduled to be played in Lahore.

NZC chief executive, David White said that “I understand this will be a blow for the PCB, who have been wonderful hosts, but player safety is paramount and we believe this is the only responsible option,”

From the Pakistan side, its information minister Fawad Chaudhary commented that we had arranged a foolproof security system for the international cricket team on which the New Zealand government also expressed satisfaction. Prime minister of Pakistan had personally discussed the security conditions with his counterpart and assured her that there were no security threats or alerts received by Pakistan which has one of the best intelligence networks in the world, Fawad added.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also declared it a unilateral decision made by NZC. It is indeed a blow to cricket fans in Pakistan and all around the world. Furthermore, the incident can affect the further cricket tours to Pakistan which are scheduled to happen soon in the future.

Argentina Plans To Purchase 12 JF-17 Fighter Jets From Pakistan Discarding Offers From India, Russia and US

0

On Thursday 16 September, Argentina’s budget allocation presented before National Congress for the fiscal year 2022 included the request of US $664 million for the acquisition of JF-17 Thunder Block III fighters.

Discarding the offers from the USA, Russia, and India, Argentina Air Force (FAA) preferences for their next supersonic fighters are very apparent marking the favorable signs for Pakistan and China.

According to the latest modern standards, the allocated budget is enough for as many as 12 JF-17 Thunder fighters whereas, $20 million are contemplated for repair and modernization of the aircraft and runways for the new aircraft.

Considering the event of 2015, when Argentina’s Minister Agustine Russi authorized an amount of $360 million for the acquisition of 14 IAI Kfir, but later the acquisition of Israeli fighters was frozen under the new government. Argentina’s Air Force intentions are to complete the new purchases but nothing could be claimed before the time until the contract is being signed.

Underpinning the current economic and political scenario of the country with the new purchase intentions, more offers from other countries can be expected in the future.
