In the wake of the withdrawal of US and NATO Forces, the Afghan Taliban are rapidly expanding their control over Afghanistan prompting concern in neighbouring countries.

Suhail Shaheen, the official spokesperson of the Afghan Taliban for International Affairs stated that the Afghan Taliban desire better relations with neighbouring countries and will not allow anyone to use their soil against other countries.

In another statement, the Afghan Taliban called China a friend of Afghanistan and expressed their wish for a better bilateral relationship with China. Subsequently, a deadly explosion near Dasu Dam in Pakistan killed nine Chinese and four Pakistanis putting the potential alliance in jeopardy.

The joint investigation of Pakistan and Chinese intelligence have connected the dots of the Dasu Dam incident with (TTP) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and India, operating from Afghanistan. China has vowed to bring the perpetrators of the Dasu Dam to account.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi hosted a two-day visit of the delegation of Afghan Taliban in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, led by Mullah Baradar Akhund. Chinese presented the investigation reports of the Dasu Dam terror attack and asked Afghan Taliban to exterminate elements from Afghan soil that are a direct threat to Pakistan and China’s national security.

US Really Messed It Up In Afghanistan, Says Imran Khan

Judy Woodruff interviewed Imran Khan for PBS News hour about Pakistan’s relation with the United States and the current situation of Afghanistan. Judy asked Imran Khan about his assessment of Afghanistan’s current situation after the US exclusion.

Imran Khan answered that first the US tried to look for a military solution in Afghanistan and people like him kept saying that there was no military solution and we were called anti-American and Taliban Khan. He said he didn’t know about the objective of the US, whether it was democracy, nation-building, or liberating women, but the way they went about it was never going to be the solution. The US should’ve decided to go for a political solution when there was no military solution. When NATO troops were present in Afghanistan, then their political solution could’ve been effective, but when they excluded troops and a limited number of troops remained there and an exit date was given, the the Taliban considered it their victory and it was very difficult to urge them for negotiations.

Judy further asked that now the Taliban are on the rise in Afghanistan and is that a good outcome for Afghanistan? Imran Khan said that the only good outcome for Afghanistan is a political settlement. The worst situation is civil war and protracted civil war which is harmful to Pakistan due to refugee problems, and the main reason is that this war will flow into Pakistan due to the large Pashtun community in Pakistan.

She asked about the explanation that there are many pieces of evidence that Pakistan has helped the Afghan Taliban. He replied that it was extremely unfair. How is it possible? Moreover, because Pakistan joined the US in the war on terror and lost thousands of people and a billion-dollar loss to the economy

Judy also asked that Pakistan is currently helping the Afghan Taliban as Pakistan sent 10000 fighters in Afghanistan. PM Khan replied that it is nonsense and they should provide evidence if they claim it. She asked what relationship Pakistan wants with the US as he rejected to provide bases in Pakistan. Does it mean you will not cooperate with the US to fight against terrorism?
He said we can’t give more damage to ourselves for others and we can be a partner in peace with the US but not in war. In the end, he said that Pakistan would try a political settlement in Afghanistan, and no matter what the circumstances would be, Pakistan will not join any other war.

Anyone who commits rape, solely and solely, that person is responsible. Never is the victim responsible, said PMIK clarifying his earlier remarks on rape. IK stated that his comments were taken out of context deliberately.

He emphasized the fact that ‘Parda’ is not only for women but also for men. Women do not bear the sole responsibility for the rape. They are victims in this regard and should be served with justice.

Imran Khan alleged that his statement was taken out of context deliberately. Again, the highlighting phrase was spoken by the PM of Pakistan, “Absolutely not”. It undermines and negates the western idea that the paramount position of Islam in Pakistan intervenes in(with) the initiatives, required to secure the rights of women.

PM beamed light on the fact that women are respected and treated well in Muslim countries as compared to western countries. The issues of rape, sexual abuse and child abuse are frequent in every civilization that comes up with education. PM stated that women are not respected in any other country as they are in Pakistan. He came up with a view that women cannot be alleged for the rapes, no matter how much they are provocative.

Islam neither suppresses nor infringes the rights of women. The embodiment of the rights of women in religious duties is a crystal clear example of it.
