Student leader Shaheer Sialvi arrested for supporting TLP, a banned extremist outfit

A student leader from Rawalpindi, Shaheer Haider Malik also known as Shaheer Sialvi, leader of State Youth Parliament, has been arrested for allegedly supporting violent Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) protest and encouraging people to join it challenging the writ of the state. Police official stated that case has been registered against Shaheer Sialvi under the provisions of Anti Terrorism Act (ATA) at Westridge Police Station in Rawalpindi. Action against Shaheer Sialvi took place after his video on social media went viral in which he was encouraging people to join the violent TLP protest and declaring Saad Rizvi’s arrest as evil act by the state. The Federal Government banned the TLP due to riots and violent protests across the country by their supporters which resulted in destruction of peace and property of common people.
