Bangladesh Lifts Ban on Travel To Israel

On Saturday, Bangladesh, like some Middle Eastern countries, relaxed its stance regarding Israel. Bangladesh government is lifting travel ban for Bengali passport holders going towards Israel, indicating a change in the relationship between the two countries.

Weakly Blitz, a Bangladeshi news website reported that there was a warning written on the passport: “This passport is valid for all countries in the world except Israel”. This text will be replaced by “This passport is valid for all countries in the world”.

According to reports, Bangladeshi Home Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Khan also confirmed that following international standards, passports will no longer include travel restrictions to Israel.


AK Abdul Momen who holds the office of Bangladeshi Foreign Minister, however, told the reporters that Bangladesh had no plans to recognise Israel.
