French President Emanuel Macron got slapped in the face while he was walking up to interact with a crowd across a barrier. A video clip of that incident is also circulating on Social Media where Mr. Macron can be seen getting slapped.
As seen in the video clip, the French President reached out to a man to greet him while interacting with the crowd before that man slapped him. According to FRANCE24, the man could be heard shouting out “Down with Macron-ism” (Ã bas la Macronie) just before he slapped Macron.
According to French media, two men have been detained in link with the incident. The presidential administration confirmed that there had been an attempt to strike Mr. Macron, but declined further comment.
