US Senator Says Pakistan’s Role In Afghanistan Is Important

Democratic Senator asks US President Joe Biden, to engage with Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan. He emphasized Biden’s administration to create an atmosphere of confidence between the two counties. He said that Pakistan is an important country and in my opinion President Biden should engage with Pakistan.

In a press conference, Chris Van Hollen said that “It is very important that the President talk directly with the Prime Minister of Pakistan.”

He said that there is no barrier between the two leaders to communicate with each other. He said that there is no specific reason that the Biden administration has not engaged with Pakistan.

Hollen said that the government officials of the US are in constant interaction with Pakistani counterparts, saying that “There are a lot of things that have been going on.”

While speaking to the media, Hollen asked the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to allow people to leave Afghanistan if they want to. He also demanded that the soil of Afghanistan should not be used for terrorism.
