Prominent Pakistani journalist Sohail Warraich has penned an open letter to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail. Warraich’s column, titled “A Traveller To Prisoner No. 804,” offers words of advice to the embattled PTI leader. Warraich Calls himself a traveller. 804, was the prisoner number of Imran Khan in Attock Jail, which became a political slogan, later on.
Warraich suggests that Khan consider a political compromise, or “U-turn,” to secure his release and stabilize the country.
He advises Khan to remain silent until the next elections and focus his efforts on ensuring the transparency of the electoral process.
The journalist emphasizes that this approach would be acceptable to all parties involved, allowing the government to function without hindrance, alleviating the concerns of the establishment, and enabling PTI to operate freely within the parliament.
Warraich’s column serves as a call to action, urging Khan to reevaluate his strategy and prioritize the well-being of the nation and his supporters.
