Islamabad Declares Daman e Koh, Lake View Family Parks For Eid

ISLAMABAD: The capital administration has designated Shakarparian, Lake View Park, and Daman-i-Koh as family-only parks during Eidul Fitr from March 20 to 23, as part of efforts to ensure a safe and orderly environment for visitors.

Meanwhile, F-9 Park will remain open to the general public throughout the Eid holidays.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters, chaired by Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, with participation from senior officials including Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon.

Authorities reviewed and finalised comprehensive security arrangements for Chand Raat and Eid, including heightened monitoring at entry and exit points, sensitive locations, and commercial areas across the city.

Police presence will be increased in parks, markets, and public spaces, with enhanced patrolling and deployment of additional personnel. A flag march will also be conducted to maintain law and order, while the Safe City control room will remain fully operational during the holidays.

Officials also directed strict traffic management, coordination with Rawalpindi authorities to manage inflow from Murree, and action against violations such as overcharging by transporters, one-wheeling, and drifting.

In addition to security, the CDA has been instructed to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper arrangements at public places and graveyards, along with safety inspections of amusement facilities in parks.

The measures aim to facilitate citizens while maintaining safety and discipline during the festive period.
