Pakistan Opens Free Registration Process for Hajj 2027 Pilgrims

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Monday formally launched the registration process for Hajj 2027, announcing that the procedure will be completely free of charge. Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, the minister confirmed that no registration fee will be collected from intending pilgrims, marking a significant policy shift aimed at easing the financial burden on applicants.

The registration, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis, is mandatory for both government and private Hajj schemes. The minister emphasized that applications for Hajj 2027 will not be accepted without prior registration. Pilgrims are required to hold a valid passport with a minimum validity until November 26, 2027. Single family members can register jointly, and overseas Pakistanis are also eligible to participate.

Registration can be completed through designated banks across the country, and an online facility has been introduced for public convenience. After registration, applicants can choose between government and private Hajj schemes. The government has urged intending pilgrims to complete registration in a timely manner to avoid last-minute issues.

The federal cabinet has already approved the Hajj Policy 2027, which includes several reforms to streamline the pilgrimage process. For more details on Hajj requirements and procedures, refer to Wikipedia’s Hajj page.

The minister also noted that the registration process is designed to ensure transparency and efficiency. For updates on Pakistan’s Hajj policies, visit BBC’s coverage of Hajj or Al Jazeera’s Hajj section.
