ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Badrang area of Awaran district Balochistan, Geo news reported citing security sources on Thursday.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing intelligence-based operations under Rad-ul-Fitna-3, a sustained counterterrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian proxies, according to the sources.
Security forces also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition from the terrorists, the sources said.
The latest operation comes days after security forces killed three Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists, including a commander, during an operation in Balochistan’s Mastung district.
According to security sources, three terrorists, including commander Naqeeb, were killed in the operation, while their vehicle was completely destroyed.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.
A report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) said the two provinces remained Pakistan’s main hotspots for violence during the second quarter of 2026, with KP recording the highest number of fatalities.
According to the report, KP and Balochistan accounted for nearly 96% of all violence-related deaths during the quarter. KP recorded more than 61% of the fatalities, with 475 deaths, while Balochistan reported 265 deaths, or 34%.
KP also recorded the highest number of violent incidents, with 151 cases, accounting for 57% of the national total. Balochistan reported 94 incidents, representing 35% of all such cases.
