Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar has said Sindh could soon be divided into six administrative units, according to 24NewsHD TV.
Speaking about the proposed administrative changes, Farooq Sattar said Sindhi youth would continue to embrace both the Jinnah cap and the Sindhi ajrak.
He claimed that Larkana could generate $5 billion in annual exports if six administrative units were created in Sindh.
Sattar also criticised the country’s economic situation, saying Pakistan’s people had been reduced to seeking financial assistance and that the country’s dignity had suffered.
He said Sindhi and Muhajir youth could play a role in restoring the province’s standing.
Sattar also mentioned receiving a Rs5,000 fine in Islamabad under the e-challan system, saying that the full truth about the matter would emerge later.
Meanwhile, residents of Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have called for the area to be given separate provincial status.
Residents said creating a separate province would improve access to public services, particularly education and healthcare.
They argued that residents currently face difficulties travelling to Peshawar for administrative matters and said it was difficult for a single chief minister to manage such a large province effectively.
The residents proposed creating a new province comprising Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and South Waziristan.
They also said additional administrative units could help authorities address security challenges more effectively.
