Sargodha: A seven-year-old girl was found dead in Sargodha after reportedly going missing while visiting a nearby shop, prompting police to launch an investigation into the incident. News reports claim that the girl was found dead after being raped.
According to police officials, the child, a second-grade student, left her home to purchase items from a local store but failed to return. Her family initiated a search, during which her body was discovered in the area.
Authorities have detained two employees of the shop for questioning. Police said the suspects are being interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation, while forensic evidence is being collected from the scene. News reports claim that the girl was lured away by the two suspects working at the shop.
Family members told investigators that the girl had gone to the nearby shop shortly before she disappeared. Following the recovery of her body, law enforcement agencies began examining the circumstances surrounding her death.
Police said a post-mortem examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death and establish whether any criminal offence was committed. The body has been shifted to a hospital for autopsy.
