Pakistani Intelligence had arrested three retired military officers and a human rights activist as a suspect of espionage.

The three convicted retired military officers are Lt Col (R) Faiz Rasool: 14 yrs Lt Col (R) Akmal: 10 yrs Maj (R) Saifuddin: 12 yrs. The human Rights activist was arrested along with the 3 retired military officers but local NGOs claimed that the activist is missing.

Local NGOs demanded the recovery of missing Human Rights activist known as Idris Khattak. All four accused were being trialed in military courts of Pakistan

As per sources, the accused were tried under Pakistan Army Act and Official Secrets Act, and the verdict of all four accused was pronounced this week by sentencing them to 14-years imprisonment.
