India backed the wrong horse in Afghanistan, says retired Indian general, Lt Gen H S Panag (Retd). The highly decorated officer of the Indian army criticised the failure of India in Afghanistan in developing relations with the new government in Afghanistan.

The retired general declared mismanagement and illusions as the root causes of Indian failure in Afghanistan.
According to an article published in a newspaper, general Panag declared the current situation as intelligence failure of Indian intelligence organisations.

Panag criticized the Indian government for backing the vulnerable puppet regime of Ashraf Ghani. The strategy of India was based on the American presence and stability of the Afghan government. India closed its embassy on 17th August despite the Afghan Taliban ensuring security of the embassy staff.

Panag also criticized the Indian Foreign Minister on his statement on the evacuation of Indian Hindus and Sikhs. Panag urged the Indian government to establish diplomatic relations with new government in Afghanistan.

Star cricketer Shahid Afridi visited the Bakhtawar Girls Cadet College in Nawabshah and while interacting with the girl cadets, he advised them to live their lives according to the principles of Isam. Shahid Afridi visited the girls cadet college along with Tableeghi Jamaat on the invitation of the principal of the college, Brigadier (R) Dr Muhammad Amin.

During his visit, Afridi talked about his cricket career and his journey that how he started preaching Islam from being a cricket star and Pakistan’s top model. He also delivered a lecture to the girl cadets about women rights in Islam and advised them to follow Islamic principles in their lives.

Moreover, Star Cricketer added that during his cricket career he once decided to leave sports because some captains wanted him out of the team, but Islam and Tableegh helped him a lot in sticking to his passion with patience despite conspiracies. He also urged female students to make studies their priority and take part in sports activities as well. Mobile phones and social media are waste of time, said Afridi.

Director General Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar held a press conference to talk about the situation in Afghanistan, Pak-Afgan border and regional security. He said Pakistan has always supported the peace process and suggested political solution in Afghanistan.

No matter how Anti Pakistan was previous Afghan government, Pakistan always tried to reach them over security concerns and to inform them about safe sanctuaries of TTP terrorists in Afghanistan, said DG ISPR. But after assuring Pakistan to take necessary action against TTP terrorists, previous Afghani government use to change their statement and turn it against Pakistan.

The Pakistan Military also offered Afghan National Army to train their military and we have also trained their army cadets as a good will gesture. But Afghan Army preferred Indian military to train their entire army and filled them with rage against Pakistan. Despite this hatred in Afghan National Army we still provided them safe passage when they asked for refuge in Pakistan during recent clashes, said DG ISPR.
