KARACHI: The government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on May 1 (Friday) in observance of Labour Day.
According to an official notification, all provincial government offices, as well as autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils operating under the Sindh administration, will remain closed on the day, with the exception of essential services.
Educational institutions across the province, including schools, colleges, and universities, will also remain shut in connection with the holiday.
Labour Day, observed globally each year on May 1, is dedicated to recognising the contributions of workers and promoting the rights of the labour force. The day serves as a reminder of the need to safeguard workers from exploitation and ensure fair working conditions.
