Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Thursday that the company expects to sell twice as many chips next year as it does this year, citing growing global investment in artificial intelligence.
Speaking to the media at a summit with Britain’s King Charles III in Scotland, Huang said demand for AI technology was expanding across industries and economies worldwide.
“I expect Nvidia to sell twice as many chips next year as we do this year,” Huang said, adding that countries were increasingly investing in AI because of its economic and industrial benefits.
The forecast adds to Nvidia’s recent projections of continued strong growth. The company recently forecast 70% growth for the fiscal year ending in January 2028, which would put revenue at around $673 billion.
Nvidia does not disclose the total number of chips it sells. Its most prominent products include data-centre graphics processing units (GPUs), including its Blackwell and Rubin platforms.
Huang said last year that Nvidia had shipped 6 million Blackwell GPUs over four quarters.
The company also produces other semiconductors, including central processing units (CPUs), networking and optical chips, laptop processors, Jetson chips for robotics and vehicles, and the processor used in Nintendo’s Switch 2 gaming console.
Huang attended the UK summit alongside representatives from Google DeepMind, OpenAI and Anthropic to discuss artificial intelligence safety.
The discussion comes amid growing concerns over the potential risks posed by increasingly advanced AI systems. Researchers have recently warned about challenges in maintaining human control over the most advanced models.
Huang said AI products should be held back if they are found to be unsafe, allowing developers to continue improving their safety.
