We Are Ready To Face Any Consequences But We Will Not Allow US Bases In Pakistan, Pakistan Military Leadership Gives A Clear Message
The Military leadership has said in the parliamentary committee on Thursday that Pakistan is ready to deal with any consequences but will not permit the United States to establish any military airbases on its soil. The closed-door meeting took place against the backdrop of Afghanistan’s precarious security situation, which could have devastating consequences for Pakistan.
A Parliamentarian said that Pakistan is not going to provide military bases to the US, nor are we going to fight their proxy war and we are ready to deal with the consequences of its decision. Moreover, the briefing also stated that “The US does not want peace in the region” while emphasizing the importance of establishing peace in Afghanistan for Pakistan. The US is once again leaving behind an unfinished job, added the Parliamentarian.
The Parliamentary Committee also discussed Pakistan’s strategy and the upcoming challenge in Afghanistan. According to the military authorities, Afghanistan’s future is bleak, and the committee was informed about the negative effects of the recent unrest in the neighbouring country.
US and military officials have already warned that a civil war in Afghanistan will have the greatest impact on Pakistan. The unrest will likely trigger a new wave of refugees, embolden terrorist groups, and pose a host of other challenges to Pakistan. It was also informed that the major concern would be new refugees flooding into Pakistan, which Pakistan would not be able to handle.
The military leadership further told that securing durable peace in Afghanistan is necessary for the establishment of peace in South Asia.
Almost Every Young Woman In UK Has Been Sexually Harassed, Finds Survey
According to a survey, more than four-fifth of young women have been sexually harassed. It warns that most women have lost hopes that the abuse will be dealt with.
86% of women between the age of 18-24 said that they had been subjected to sexual harassment in public places, 11% of women chose to stay quiet on this question while only 3% of women didn’t recall any experience of harassing behaviour.
According to a survey published in a report by all-party parliamentary group (APPG) for UN women, 71% of a woman of any age told that they have an experience of being subjected to sexual harassment in public spaces.
Claire Barnett, executive director of UN women UK, said that “it’s a human rights crisis and just to keep saying that this issue has no solution, is not enough for us. This needs to be addressed now.”
The survey of more than 1000 women carried out by YouGov exposed the lack of faith in UK authorities’ to deal with sexual harassment. 96% of the respondents did not report the incident with 45% saying that it won’t change anything.
“We think that we are a leading light in progress but we forget to address the problems regarding gender violence that still happens to women and marginalised groups everyday,” said Claire Barnett.
Founder of Everyday Sexism Project, Laura Bates said ” if you talk about wolf-whistling or street harassment, you’ll be titled as “feminazi” and accused of overacting. This is the reason why most women think that they won’t be taken seriously if they report the issues regarding harassment.”
Laura Bates pointed to TUC/ Everyday Sexism Research which states that 52% of women faced sexual harassment during work and only one of the five women reported this issue. Three-fourth of the woman told that nothing had changed while 16% of women said that they were treated even worse as a result.
The normalisation of the idea that a woman’s body is a public property in public places, is at the root of this issue. We need to shatter this normalisation through our policies if we want to change the condition,” said Laura Bates.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Never Paid The Woman She Made A Documentary On And Won Oscars, Says Feroz Khan
Famous actor Feroz Khan slammed filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy after her remarks on Sonya Hussain. In an old interview in 2018 with Yasir Hussain, Sonya said that she would have rejected Raees.
“It’s not my dream to work with Shahrukh Khan,” Sonya replied to a question. She said that one must accept a prominent role, rather than being a sidekick.
The controversy caught fire when the filmmaker commented under the post of an Instagram page saying that “Don’t think you’ll be Mahira Khan.”She accused Sonya Hussain of disrespecting Mahira Khan. From Sharmeen’s point of view, Sonya is an unprofessional actress.
Responding to the filmmaker, Sonya in her Instagram story said, “Pulling one woman down while putting another in full view of the public and talking about upbringing. Freedom of speech related to work is not disrespectful.”
Feroz Khan also joined the argument showing his support for the actress.
He advised Sonya not to pay attention to the comments of Sharmeen. He also referred to the lawsuit filed by Rukhsana, an acid attack survivor that stated that she signed blank documents unknowingly and Sharmeen made her do that. National Assembly Of Pakistan Passes A Bill To Award Death Penalty To Rapists
After numerous rape cases over the years in Pakistan, the National Assembly has today finally passed the bill pertaining to the death sentence for rapists. Although some might view this as a very delayed and late decision, the optimistic view is that this grave issue is now receiving the attention it deserves.
There are at least 11 rape cases reported in Pakistan every day with over 22,000 rape cases reported to police across the country in the last six years. Prime Minister Imran Khan had also announced chemical castration for rapists a few months back, which was applauded by Pakistanis as a historic decision taken to counter rape cases.
People now rely on the judicial system to strictly judge the rapists and declare them guilty by announcing death sentences for them. Many rapists are declared non-guilty because of political affiliation or lack of witnesses, due to which victims are not given justice for this appalling and disgusting act that has scarred them for life. This decision taken by the National Assembly today should truly be appreciated by the public.
Don’t Blame Us For Your Failure In Afghanistan, Imran Khan To US
Prime Minister Imran Khan delivered a detailed speech on the floor of National Assembly on Wednesday concentrating on relations between Washington and Islamabad. He stressed that Pakistan could be a partner in peace but never in conflict. He criticized past policies of governments that led Pakistan to join the Afghan War.
“When we gave so many services to the US, did they praise us? Instead, they shifted the blame on Pakistan. They called us a hypocrite instead of appreciating us.”
He added that As a Pakistani, I never felt more insulted than when Pakistan decided to join the American war on terror in Afghanistan. I questioned repeatedly whether Al Qaeda was in Afghanistan, Taliban’s were in Afghanistan, what did we have to do with the war?
He wanted the nation to remember that period forever as any person or an institution or a country can never move forward without learning from past mistakes.
No country involves in other’s war and loses 70,000 people, $150 billion economy.
We were declared the most dangerous place. Even no cricket team was ready to visit. What they said, we kept doing.
He also gave a reference to a book by Tommy Franks, a US general,
“We knew Musharraf was vulnerable, so we kept pushing him.”
The Prime Minister said that in a meeting of the US Senate, an American commander had claimed that the Pakistan government did “not tell the truth” to its citizens. “We disrespect ourselves, the world did not respect us.”
The premier said that after deciding that there was no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan, the US wanted Pakistan to bring the Afghan Taliban to the negotiation table.
“What leverage do we have? We can only tell them that there could be a civil war.” He cleared that Pakistan do not want to have favourites. Whatever Afghan people choose, we are with them.
Pakistan’s Most Wanted Terrorist Is Hiding In UK For The Past 30 Years, Will They Allow Us To Carry Out A Drone Strike, Asks Imran Khan
Prime Minister Imran Khan on the floor of National Assembly said that Pakistan cooperated with the US in every manner to help them fight against their terrorist. Pakistan sacrificed more than the US in their war, reminding how Pakistan lost 70,000 people and its $150 billion economy while US aid was only $20 billion.
Now that the US didn’t succeed in Afghanistan, they are blaming Pakistan for their failure, forgetting the fact that Pakistan lost more than the US in their war, said Imran Khan. No country gives such favour what Pakistan give to US. Imran asked, Pakistan most wanted terrorist is living in UK for the past 30 years will they allow us a drone strike on him?
He said it was the darkest time for Pakistan when we had no idea who was our friend and who wasn’t in our favour. Imran said no matter how much we do for US, they still find a way to accuse us of playing on both sides. Now Pakistan can only be their ally in peace not ally in war.
